COST REPORT SEASON OFFICIALLY BEGINS
Federal fiscal year (FFY) 2025 School Health and Related Services (SHARS) cost report will be opening on April 1, 2026, in the new State of Texas Electronic Provider System (STEPS.)
The primary contact listed in the PEMS system must reflect the entity’s current primary contact. SHARS cost report will not populate in STEPS unless the email address in PEMS for the primary contact matches the primary contact email address used to register in STEPS.
PLEASE VALIDATE PRIMARY CONTACT IS CORRECT IN PEMS.
HHSC cannot update a primary contact designation on behalf of an entity in PEMS or in STEPS.
BIG NEWS:
As of April 1st, 2026, the primary contact can assign a financial contact. Either primary contact or financial contact can assign all ONWARD finance managers as preparers.
