Mandatory FFY 2022 MAC Financial Training

Per the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Rule 355.8095 for Medicaid Administrative Claiming, Paragraph (e)(3):

(A) Each primary MAC financial contact must attend and receive credit for training for each FFY in which the governmental entity chooses to participate.

(B) Training is provided for each FFY and is not retroactive.

(C) A governmental entity that does not have a trained MAC financial contact who is an employee of the entity is prohibited from submitting a MAC Financial Claim. Governmental entity-contracted vendors are not permitted to enter an entity’s data into STAIRS for any entity that does not have a trained MAC financial contact who is an employee of the entity.

To meet these state requirements, all MAC participating entities must ensure they have an entity employee who is the Primary MAC Financial Contact and who has MAC Financial Training credit for Federal Fiscal Year 2022. This individual must be designated as the Primary MAC Financial Contact on the Fairbanks website.

Furthermore, HHSC requests that all entities have at least 2 trained staff who are employees of the entity. This will help the entity maintain compliance with the TAC requirements in the event of employee turnover and may become a requirement for MAC participation in the future.

If you have not already signed up or received MAC 2022 training credit, please attend one of the following MAC Financial Training dates for your entity type to ensure your entity’s ability to submit MAC Financials for Federal Fiscal Year 2022:

ISD

Thursday, April 7, 2022: https://register.gotowebinar.com/rt/6121842566975896078

Please note, unless HHSC can verify that your entity has met or is on track to meet the training requirements as set forth by the Texas Administrative Code, your entity’s MAC Financials will not be opened for FFY 2022.
